Kroop & Co is a medium-sized family business in the second generation. We work independently of the group with an ambitious international team of well-trained employees. It's always about people, too. Only if everyone pursues a collective goal, the different requirements of the customers can be met. This goal is always the focus of our work.

It motivates us, spurs us on. Even if the rules change somewhere, or the general conditions shift. That's why it never gets boring and remains a challenge every day to provide our customers with reliable planning.

History

In 1974, everything started at our location in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg. Hans-Werner Horstmann started the first truck transport to and from Yugoslavia. The surrounding Balkan regions were soon added. Freight traffic in the former Eastern Bloc was a challenge. But as our experience grew, so did the whole company. Because borders, countries and political conditions changed at all times in Europe, our business never stiffened into routine. Time and again, we were faced with new and demanding tasks. Like the turning years of the nineties, when - once again - everything changed. However, our steady growth always remained. Warehousing and customs clearance were added as new services. Our network in Eastern and Southern Europe was continuously expanded. Kroop & Co continued to develop.

KROOP & CO. HARBURG-NEULAND SITE FROM 2007 - 2021

In 2006, Horstmann Senior's management was expanded to include his two sons Axel and Lars, who had previously been involved in the business for several years. Since then, two generations have been working in the family business. In 2007, the company moved to new business premises in Hamburg-Neuland. But soon, even the new location became too small for the workforce, which had grown to almost 70 employees. Larger offices and more storage space were needed. In 2021, the eco HUB was opened just outside Hamburg in Neu Wulmstorf. A trend-setting building for sustainable logistics.
